How to make your posts more interesting:
Html is only available to admins; however, BBC code can spice up your posts a bit. If you would like to know more about the Bulletin Board Code that the message board uses, please see the Help file.
How do I post a picture?
If the picture is already hosted on the internet, you can use the img code within your post (this is perfect for pictures hosted on sites such as flickr)
Code: [Select]

http://somesite/myimage.gif[/img]
The width and height of your picture may be omitted ( i.e. [img] with no width or height specified), but if it is known please add it.
If the picture is on your hard drive, you will need to attach it (to your post). To attach a picture, click on Additional Options below the text editor and click on Choose File. This will allow you to upload your picture to the cousincouples.com website. The picture will automatically appear in your message.
Please note that digital cameras these days can create HUGE files. If your file is over two megabytes, you may want to resize it before you upload it. If your picture is too big to fit on your screen, you should resize it.
How do I resize a photo?
Pictures directly from your camera may not be web ready. Any image over 800x600 will be too big to fit on many computer monitors. Images over 1 Meg are too large for dialup users to deal with (who cares? ).
Many tools are available to tweak photos. Windows OS comes with a simple paint program; however,
http://paint.net/ is a better free replacement. If you need help, ask us in the tech support section. We will be glad to help you get started. You might even search youtube or google for a tutoral.
You might try
http://webresizer.com/ to optimize and resize your pictures for the web. But trust me, if you invest some time learning a decent graphics software package, you will be rewarded. If you are not a novice you should google The Gimp.
Don't worry so much about your picture file if you are unfamiliar with file formats. Just upload it.
How do I add videos from hosting services like You Tube? and cnn.com?
Simply drop the URL on a line by itself; the message board will figure out the rest. The message board supports videos from around 100 websites.
Can I delete my account?
PM an admin: Lady C?, KC or Jessie and we might delete it. Remember that you can change your nickname displayed on this board through your profile settings. But we frown upon this; if you change your nickname around, I may disable it altogether because I can't keep up with who is who.
Do not pick a nickname that you do not want googled (i.e. listed in search engines). We try to keep the message board from being included in search engines, but we can not guarantee it. Some search engine spider the message board against our consent; therefore, your nickname might be displayed in some search engines.
I suggest everyone make up a nickname instead of using their real name on the internet. Your real email address should be safe here.
Is my email address displayed?
Yes and no: only to admins and yourself. You may allow your email address to be shown to everyone by editing your profile.
What about passwords?
Nobody can access your password. You need to keep your profile up-to-date with your email address so that you can reset your password if you forget it. Your password is encrypted and nobody can access it. Admin can only reset/change your password, but can't read the original password.
Can I edit my post or delete it?
After 48 hours you can not edit or delete your post. You will need to contact an admin. We do not want posts modified after members begin responding to them.
