  1. The article that Robbin Bennett co-authored was gone for a long time. One website wanted $40 for a copy of the now famous study. I found it and have attached the PDF for all to read. "Genetic Counseling and Screening of Consanguineous Couples and Their Offspring. Recommendations of the National Society of Genetic Counselors." https://www.cousincouples.com/info/Genetic_Counseling_and_Screening_of_Consanguineous.pdf
  2. BTW, credit cards will be billed something like "TheBoss" hosting or VPN service, or FCS Software. Cousincouples will not appear anywhere. We have lots of new features like a support ticketing system now (see the top of the screen). Man I may take a day off tomorrow and just watch Netflix. I think I have worked every minute of every day for the past week. This morning I woke up still in my office chair!! I've done that before in my <cough> younger years when I would drink heavily -- but this time I was sober. Once I took an Ambien (prescribed!). I thought I would chill out in front of the computer while it "kicked in." I woke up 6 hours later still in my office chair, or maybe I was in the floor. The doc gave me 60 days worth, so I took one every night. Nobody told me anything about Ambien. When I ran out, I had acute withdrawal and I thought I had died and gone to hell. Google "Ambien Hell" and you will see what I am talking about. I will climb out of my rabbit hole now...
  3. Hello everyone. I have installed a membership (commerce) module. It allows me to collect membership fees and sell physical products if I like. Our store is empty but it will not be for long. However, subscriptions are available available and will be a requirement going forward. I can't say I'm sorry about it. If you walked into Walmart and just walked out with items, they would go out of business swiftly. So, we are a business too. Within the week, I will be downgrading the options available to non paying members. But don't worry, I have no intention of locking anyone out. The critical boards on the forum will still be available to everyone, if only in read-only mode. I have not worked out all of the details. I like to think about things over a period of days to eliminate how emotions can affect our thoughts. Unencumbered logic? Yea that is what I'm trying to say LOL If you select the store, you will see Subscriptions listed right below. The Subscription link is not as prominent as I would like. I may fix that. So, for a measly $15 /yr you will have full access (The Associate Membership). There are more expensive subscriptions if you are willing to help support this website even more, by all means, select a more expensive package. The $15 is just an intro price. It will go up; now is the time to purchase a subscription at this price.
  4. Listen to my friend Pooch! Sometimes he is 110% correct. I have 6 years of religious studies under my belt. I also married and will soon be divorced to my cousin. So, I have a perspective you may find interesting. The cousin aspect is one thing but how she through you under the bus is quite another. My thing, at this point in my life. is that if a lady does something like that to me, she is as good as dead. I'm sure as hell not going to peruse her. Doesn't the Bible say, "Don't be stupid! And never be a creep." Oh, those are my words, sorry. How people treat you initially is a foreshadowing. Find a real woman who goes after what she wants. You do not want this girl. You only think you do. Maybe you just want something that you can't have? Or maybe you were smitten. Oh well. We are not 14 again; you gotta move on my would-be kissing cousin friend. All the best to you!
  5. Ohhh similarities, I'm around 47 and was married 20 some odd years and now I am getting unmarried as quickly as I can. With us, it wasn't a happy marriage; I should have left 20 years ago, or at least 10. Shit happens. And let's just hope that you never meet another man guy like him!!! For real for real. The best time to quit drinking is NOW, and not drag it out any longer. He isn't even worth drinking over. I would pop open a bottle of champagne because he is gone. And be done with the drinking. Drinking is another similarity that I won't even get into. I do, however, remember falling in a ditch just inches from the road and not even being able to crawl. I realized I was alcohol poisoned and I thought I would die. It felt like I died but I guess I just passed out cold. I've always wondered how many hours I laid in that ditch with cars whizzing just inches from my head. I'm just saying, keep on drinking. You will get there.
  6. Wow that is uncomfortable. Shouldn't your sister have warned you before inviting someone like that over for 2 weeks? Ok, take a deep breath. Just don't make a fool of yourself. Don't get too friendly with the cuz. The ball is clearly in her court. Don't overthink anything; you will wear yourself out. Don't talk yourself into doing anything stupid. I doubt she feels any differently toward you now. I'm not certain that you can "heal" a chemistry that is simply not there as far as she is concerned. Grab a fishing pole, a shotgun and go camping/hunting next week.
  7. In the beginning, Google Chrome raised the bar on web browsers. They were the first one to come out with svg support and multi-threaded Javascript. I was on board with Chrome for a few years. However, given the nature of Google's business model (much like Facebook's), they are the envy of intelligence agencies around the world. Read this. I have personally been moving away from all things Google for the past few years and I have found an excellent browser, Brave, (built by the guy who invented Javascript) which is excellent. It give the user precise control over intrusive ads, trackers and fingerprinting. You can also turn off scripts, but don't. If you need to turn off scripts, you are at the wrong website! It is also compatible with Google Chrome plugins (extensions) and it imports your bookmarks easily. It's Chrome without the spyware; in fact, it has the best security features built-in of any browser. The Brave Browser is based upon the same framework as Google Chrome or as I like to call it, Gugl Khrom. You can also get paid for browsing the web and even tip some of the websites that you visit often. It allows a few ads to slip through and actually pays you for your time. This is a much better business model than the free software like Google. If the software is free, then you are the product. Please give Brave a try. I've been using it for 3 months and I love love love it. Can you tell that I love this browser? Try it for a week. Be Brave.
  8. Ok I finally finished it! It's live!
  9. "desperate about her" -- ohh boy I can see that. That isn't necessarily a great place to be, especially when you are getting mixed signals. You gotta bite the bullet and just ask her how she feels. Don't confess your feelings, at least not in those terms. Be nonchalant and straight out ask her. Or the old trick, "If you weren't my cousin ..." Are you saying that "first sister" is the same thing as a "first cousin" in your culture? Very odd.
  10. Ahh OpenImbrella! Ok problem solved....
  11. Fallon was taking notes lol. Liked that!
  12. If you are wondering why I am so touchy about this issue is because my fiancé was five months shy of her 18th birthday. It's wasn't a big deal until some "concerned citizen" (ie pissed family member or whomever) made a phone call. Some creep came to my public workplace and told me he was investigating me because of a complaint they had received. Our state has since adopted a "Romeo and Juliet" law. We got married a few weeks earlier than we had planned. The creep didn't scare me back then, but knowing what I know now -- I should have been very scared. Dealing with the age of consent goes beyond the scope of cc.com. Ahh, right after we married, the creep came back to my workplace and said, "Hey I hear you just got married. Congratulations. Investigation is closed." It could have went very differently. Moreover, I do not want the gestapo knocking my front door down sweeping military-style weapons in my face. I have no business with the feds and do not want a bulls-eye on my back. Although I am all about free speech, I just think some topics should be discussed on other websites, not here. If I give someone the wrong legal advice, I could be looking at three felonies myself and also get the OP a nice stretch up the river. In the USA, we honestly can't built prisons fast enough. They are also, more and more, ran by the private sector. Every fool in a jumpsuit has a cap rate on his or her head; their sufferings are being monetized. The more fools they pack in, the higher the nasdaq goes!
  13. I do not know what he wants but I know what he may get if he is mistaken about or runs afoul of the law. This forum will not be used to encourage criminal behavior. We must assume that there are no exceptions ( ie Romeo and Juliet law). The political climate in America is at a fever pitch and the DOJ and all of the other three letter agencies have been weaponized and controlled by crazy fringe groups with agendas for some time now. The integrity of this website would be put into question. If your interaction exceeds that of PG13, then you should seek advice on the dark web with all of the other perverts.
  14. Some states have a "Romeo and Juliet" law. I agree with it, but I am not about to start giving legal advice on criminal matters on this forum.
  15. So, eventually you will be 18 and she will only be 16 or 17? Soon enough you will be a man and she will be a child in the eyes of the law. A simple exchange of selfies could be a gigantic problem for you. I am being real here, so wise up. You do not want to be on a sex registry the rest of your life. Put this relationship on hold until she is 18. End of story. (Pooch [and all other mods], please keep this in mind with future advice to kids).

    Gay love cousin

Thanks for your response Treej. After years of interacting with gay cousins, I am slowly realizing that my presuppositions about gay people can be, well, just dumb. I think in another 100 years we may understand sexuality in a completely different paradigm. I'm a religious studies major, so it is extremely easy for me to adopt the most hateful and ignorant view of gay people. And for that, I apologize. God gave me a brain and by George, I'm gonna use it. Or start using it. I don't think Christ would treat you the same way that I have done. So there is that. I don't know about your cousin. I know a lot about drinking, and alcohol can make one do things they wouldn't do normally. Is he always plastered when he makes these comments? In any case, no no no. It's not a typical hetro relationship. That doesn't mean that your cousin will ever get off the fence. I don't think I understand your feelings and I don't think you understand mine either -- but at least we are communicating. Honestly I think you should abandon the whole gay cousin thing. Generally when one asks for advice (man, woman, gay or straight) I generally say forget it! When I fell in love with my cousin, I didn't have to ask anyone. I knew I was going to marry that girl. After a shitty marriage, I now wish that I did ask more questions and listened to advice that was offered. I just think if the stars were aligned, you two would be together. Maybe that makes me naive or just crazy... ? LOL It's been a pleasure chatting with you.

    Gay love cousin

Well first off I also have a guy cousin (I am a guy) that I love dearly. However, we are both heterosexual. Neither one of us has had too much luck with women because we both attract Crazy Ones. Crazy with a Capital C. We've had a very close relationship since childhood also. I just want to point out that this can be very normal it has nothing to do with sexuality. In fact I think I could flip a switch in my mind and block out my entire family and never give them a second thought. Probably except for my cousin. I have some other thoughts too, and hope you don't take offense. But look, if you are trying to convert your straight cousin into becoming something else you are very mistaken. If he tells you he is a heterosexual then listen to him. I assume your cousin was blitzed out of his mind the night you slept with him. If you keep making advances toward him you will alienate yourself. I've met quite a few guys, even on here, that were once married to a woman and have now decided they were gay. They divorced and pursued that lifestyle. I've learned not to judge. I'm not in a great position to judge anyone for anything at anytime. Just because I do not judge doesn't mean that I approve of this lifestyle. I hope you can respect that. I have a way of really infuriating my gay and lesbian readers -- unintentionally of course. I would say hey you should wait for your cousin to make himself clear about his sexuality. However I think he has already been abundantly clear. In my old age wisdom I have found that people say what they mean. I certainly wish that I had listened a lot more to people in my life rather than making excuses for them or thinking I can change them or all of the ways we can twist reality to fit the way we want it to be. I have rambled on here and I hope you have found something useful. I apologize for any typos. This was posted using a mobile device.

    dating website

Oh once I sobered up, I deleted the app. I wish I could delete these ugly women's photo from my brain. Trust me I would never date a woman from a dating website ... so pathetic!

    dating website

I registered on my first dating website. Yay go me! I was looking for some hot honeys. The site was Badoo now I have no idea what that means in Spanish but I suspect it means ugly Hussey's. I asked this one girl if I could cage her up. She said no! She thought I was being metaphorical. I was not. I think she needs to be in a cage on her way down to the dog pound for testing I don't have high standards just look at my soon-to-be ex-wife. I was just looking for some company. After looking at their profile pictures I tried to pull my head off.
  20. color coordination? oops. Yes! You are right. LadyC did the verbose table and I did the map. We combined two websites so I had never noticed this before.
  21. We have a saying in NC -- maybe it's an adage: "Let well enough alone." That is my best advice. She is a roller coaster and she will, given time, roll over your soul like a runaway train going 1000 miles per hour. Trouble trouble. Do yourself a favor. Find a wild gypsy women, like I'm looking for. We do not need these crazy women in our lives. We are beautiful, strong men. Damit. Why do we seek self-destruction in this way? It's quicker and less painful to force yourself off of a bridge. Hey! Just a word to the wise! Big up yourself my friend.
  22. We have it as "First cousins and first cousins once removed prohibited only if they can bear children or are over a certain age." If you find out any different, please let us know. I want to provide the most accurate information on the web.
  23. It contingent upon whatever "first degree cousins are." Ahhh. These outmoded terms are unbearable. I'm left scratching my head. We have it listed as prohibited in IL but I am questioning that.
  24. It depends on what Louisiana's definition of 4th degree relatives are. They may define the definition in their state law. The definition may vary from religious, legal, and historic definitions like the old Roman civil law. I can't answer your question with 110% confidence. You should contact a lawyer who would know or know how to quickly find out. If you do that please let us know what you find out. Sometimes it is easier to leave the state, get married and return.

    Dear Diary

I saw this in one of the major newspapers and thought it was so cool. But in the paper, the names were withheld. I could do that with a little custom programming. This forum software is updated so often that it would be difficult to maintain the changes. I like to work within the framework that I am given; it is so much easier. As a free website, we do not make money so there is no incentive to add to my responsibilities. But let's have fun with it!
