Do I call his mom aunt or mother in law

I have always referred to my partners mother as my aunt but I feel very uncomfortable when I have to choose what to call her now.  Does anyone feel the same way? How do most of you refer to your "aunt" "mother in law" and how do you feel about it?

She is my mother-in-law.

The closest relationship is used.

If all is good with her and the relationship with your partner, ask her what

she would like to be called. That would take away any question

call her whatever makes you comfortable. although it might raise eyebrows to call her "aunt" around people who know she's your mother-in-law. if you're not comfortable calling her "mom", perhaps you should just call her by her first name. that's what i call my in-laws. the "mom and dad" thing with them just never worked for me.
